terms of service
Welcome to Turning-Point Tactics LLC ("Turning-Point Tactics," "we," "our," or "us").
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Turning-Point Tactics website, courses, training programs, scheduling services, online store, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing our website, registering for a course, booking a training session, purchasing a product or service, or participating in our training, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or Services.
1. Our Services
Turning-Point Tactics provides firearm safety education, firearms training, instructional services, and related products and services.
Our training may include classroom instruction, firearm safety education, handling fundamentals, range instruction, marksmanship fundamentals, and other lawful firearms-related educational activities.
Specific course content, requirements, prerequisites, equipment requirements, and eligibility requirements may vary by course.
Turning-Point Tactics reserves the right to modify course offerings, schedules, instructors, locations, or course requirements when reasonably necessary.
2. Training Is Educational
Our training is intended to provide education and instruction in the safe and responsible handling and use of firearms.
Participation in a course does not guarantee a particular level of skill, qualification, permit, license, employment, or legal outcome.
Completion of a Turning-Point Tactics course does not authorize a person to possess, purchase, transport, carry, or use a firearm when that activity is otherwise prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
Maryland law establishes specific requirements for certain firearm-related activities and training. Participants are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws applicable to them.
3. Participant Eligibility
You must meet all applicable age, legal, and course-specific requirements before participating in training.
You are responsible for accurately providing information requested during registration or enrollment.
Turning-Point Tactics may refuse or cancel a registration when we reasonably determine that:
A participant does not meet the requirements for a course;
Required information has not been provided;
A participant is prohibited by applicable law from possessing or handling a firearm;
A participant presents a safety concern;
A participant is unable to comply with instructor directions; or
Participation would violate applicable law or the requirements of the training facility.
We may request identification or other documentation when reasonably necessary to verify eligibility.
4. Firearm Safety
Safety is the foundation of every Turning-Point Tactics training program.
All participants must follow the instructions of Turning-Point Tactics instructors and the rules of the training or range facility at all times.
Participants must:
Follow all firearm safety rules and instructor commands;
Treat every firearm as though it is loaded;
Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction;
Keep their finger outside the trigger guard until instructed otherwise;
Follow all loading, unloading, handling, and storage instructions;
Use required eye and hearing protection;
Immediately notify an instructor of unsafe conditions;
Follow all range-specific rules and procedures; and
Stop handling a firearm when instructed to do so.
Failure to follow safety instructions may result in immediate removal from training without a refund.
5. Alcohol, Drugs, and Impairment
You may not participate in firearm training while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that impairs your judgment, coordination, awareness, or ability to safely handle a firearm.
Turning-Point Tactics may refuse participation or remove a participant from training when an instructor reasonably believes the participant is impaired or otherwise unable to participate safely.
No refund is guaranteed when a participant is removed from training for violating this policy.
6. Personal Firearms and Equipment
If a course permits participants to bring their own firearm or equipment, participants are responsible for ensuring that the firearm and equipment comply with the course requirements and applicable law.
Turning-Point Tactics may inspect or decline to permit the use of equipment that an instructor reasonably believes is unsafe, defective, inappropriate for the course, or otherwise unsuitable for training.
Participants must not bring prohibited items or equipment to a training location.
Specific course descriptions may establish additional requirements concerning firearms, ammunition, holsters, protective equipment, or other gear.
7. Training Facility Rules
Training may take place at locations operated by Turning-Point Tactics or by third-party facilities.
Participants must comply with all applicable rules established by the training facility, range, property owner, and Turning-Point Tactics.
A violation of facility rules may result in removal from the premises and termination of participation.
8. Assumption of Risk
Firearm training involves inherent risks, including the risk of serious bodily injury, permanent disability, property damage, or death.
Although Turning-Point Tactics maintains safety procedures and requires participants to follow instructor and facility rules, no training environment can eliminate every risk.
By participating in firearm training, you acknowledge that you understand the inherent risks associated with firearm handling and range activities.
You agree to exercise reasonable care, follow all safety instructions, and immediately communicate any safety concern to an instructor.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights or protections that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
9. Instructor Authority
Our instructors are responsible for maintaining a safe training environment.
An instructor may:
Pause or stop an exercise;
Require a participant to correct unsafe behavior;
Restrict the use of particular equipment;
Remove a participant from an exercise;
End a participant's training session; or
Remove a participant from the facility when reasonably necessary for safety or compliance.
Instructor safety decisions are final for the duration of the training session.
10. Registration and Booking
Registration may be completed through our website or an affiliated scheduling platform.
When registering, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.
Your registration is not considered complete until payment or other required registration steps have been successfully completed.
Turning-Point Tactics reserves the right to limit enrollment based on course capacity.
11. Payments
Course prices and other fees will be displayed at the time of registration or purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, payment is required before participation in a course or receipt of a service.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.
Turning-Point Tactics is not responsible for errors, outages, or unauthorized activity occurring within a third-party payment platform, although we will make reasonable efforts to assist with legitimate transaction issues.
12. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Our cancellation and rescheduling policies may vary by course.
Unless a course listing states otherwise:
Cancellations made sufficiently in advance may be eligible for a refund or credit;
Late cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee;
No-shows may forfeit the course fee;
Rescheduling is subject to availability;
Promotional or discounted purchases may have different cancellation terms.
The specific cancellation policy displayed during registration will control if it differs from these general Terms.
13. Turning-Point Tactics Cancellations
Turning-Point Tactics may cancel, postpone, or reschedule a course because of circumstances including:
Severe weather;
Facility closure;
Instructor availability;
Safety concerns;
Equipment issues;
Insufficient enrollment; or
Other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
When we cancel a course, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants and provide available options for rescheduling, credit, or refund as appropriate.
14. No Guarantee of Training Outcome
Training outcomes vary between individuals.
Turning-Point Tactics does not guarantee that participation in a course will result in a specific level of proficiency, qualification, certification, permit approval, or other outcome unless expressly stated in the course description.
Participants remain responsible for continued practice and safe firearm handling after completing training.
15. Compliance With Law
Participants are responsible for knowing and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Nothing on this website or provided during training should be interpreted as individualized legal advice.
Firearm laws can change. Information presented during training is intended for educational purposes and should not be treated as a substitute for current legal guidance.
Maryland law contains specific requirements concerning firearm possession, transfers, training, and related activities.
